Local Pain Treatment
In Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the Weberneedle® Compact Laser is mainly used for regeneration purposes in the areas of:
- Degenerative joint diseases
- Spinal pain
- Disease and damage of the musculoskeletal system
- Distorsions, Tendinopathies
- Wound healing disorders and other dermatological issues (e.g., neurodermatitis)
The exact laser alignment is particularly qualifies for the stimulation of trigger and acupuncture points. Lasers can either be attached to the skin with Weberneedle® Lasertubes (adhesive applicators) or by using the Weberneedle® Body laser shower. In both cases up to 12 lasers with different wavelengths can be used simultaneously.
The needle-like fiber ends ('laserneedles') create high energy density that penetrates deep into the body to stimulate pain areas and to promote healing mechanisms. Laser irradiation increases cell activity (ATP, NO and serotonin production), improves blood flow and combats inflammations by proliferating immune cells and by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Each color or wavelength is absorbed by the tissue to a different degree which implicates that they have different penetration depths. Even deeply damaged tissue can be irradiated with the appropriate wavelength.
Due to their high penetration depths green, red and infrared lasers are used for pain management.
