External Laser Therapy

There is a broad range of applications in the field of external laser therapy with the Weberneedle® Compact:

In the USA Weberneedle® Compact is indicated to provide topical healing for the following:

  • Temporary increase of local blood circulation.
  • Temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches, pains, and stiffness.
  • Temporary relaxation of muscles.
  • Temporary relief of muscle spasms.
  • Temporary relief of minor pain and stiffness associated with arthritis.

Local Pain Treatment

In Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the Weberneedle® Compact Laser is mainly used for regeneration purposes in the areas of:

  • Degenerative joint diseases
  • Spinal pain
  • Disease and damage of the musculoskeletal system
  • Distorsions, Tendinopathies
  • Wound healing disorders and other dermatological issues (e.g., neurodermatitis)

The exact laser alignment is particularly qualifies for the stimulation of trigger and acupuncture points. Lasers can either be attached to the skin with Weberneedle® Lasertubes (adhesive applicators) or by using the Weberneedle® Body laser shower. In both cases up to 12 lasers with different wavelengths can be used simultaneously.

The needle-like fiber ends ('laserneedles') create high energy density that penetrates deep into the body to stimulate pain areas and to promote healing mechanisms. Laser irradiation increases cell activity (ATP, NO and serotonin production), improves blood flow and combats inflammations by proliferating immune cells and by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Each color or wavelength is absorbed by the tissue to a different degree which implicates that they have different penetration depths. Even deeply damaged tissue can be irradiated with the appropriate wavelength.
Due to their high penetration depths green, red and infrared lasers are used for pain management.

Treating an epicondylitis by external irradiation with the Weberneedle® Body Laser Shower

Application of infrared, red and green lasers for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. Utilization of the laser shower to irradiate the painful area with as much laser needles possible. Compared to laser needle acupuncture this procedure is very time-saving. The irradiation has spasmolytic effects, stimulates lymphatic flow and promotes wound healing.

Laserneedle Acupucture

Laserneedle Acupuncture is an absolute pain-free acupuncture method. The laserneedle is not inserted into the skin but attached onto it. The laser beam directly penetrates into the body, stimulates acupuncture points and unfolds its biological effects. This method allows simultaneous treatment of up to 12 acupuncture points.

The scope is the same as in classic acupuncture:

  • Spine syndromes
  • Arthrosis
  • Herniated disks
  • Rheumatic diseases
  • Tendonitis
  • Trigeminus neuralgia
  • Depression
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • And many more

Treating an epicondylitis by laser needle acupuncture with the Weberneedle® Compact Laser

20-minute stimulation of small intestine 3 and several acupuncture points of the large intestine meridian pathway with infrared and red laser needles. The acupuncture has detumescent, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic effects.
Besides acupuncture, Weberneedle® Compact can be utilized for the treatment of pain areas and muscle trigger points.

Transcranial Therapy

It is clinically proven that transcranial laser therapy reduces the area of an infarct. It also improves intracerebral microcirculation. Studies document that laser therapy activates neuronal growth. Effects are caused by induction of biochemical metabolic pathways within nerve cells. Transcranial therapy is effective to treat:

  • Degenerative brain injuries (Cerebral sclerosis, Alzheimer's).
  • Post-treatment of strokes
  • Parkinson's
  • Migraine
  • Vertigo
  • Tinnitus

Application of infrared, red and green lasers for the treatment of painful medical conditions (trigeminal neuralgia, sinus problems), hearing loss, diseases of the nervous system        (Parkinson's), dementia (Alzheimer's) and stroke, as well as face, ear and skull acupuncture in lying and sitting position.

Sublingual Therapy and Laser Application in Dental Medicine and Dermatology

In combination with the small laser shower the Weberneedle® Compact Laser can be used for sublingual therapy. The laser is applied to superficial blood vessels under the tongue to unfold its systemic effects. It improves blood flow and strengthens the immune system.

The Weberneedle® Compact can also be used for treatment of caries, peridontitis and other gum infections. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties the blue laser is extremely effective.

In dermatology Low-Level Laser Therapy is used for cosmetic purposes and to treat skin diseases and wound healing disorders.

Skin diseases

  • Eczema
  • Neurodermatitis
  • Psoriasis
  • Chronic wounds
  • Acne
  • Virus infections (Zoster, EBV and Herpes Simplex)
